Kate Moss at last night’s A Single Man premiere after party
SHE may be gearing up to launch her first bag collection with French luxury label Longchamp – following eight seasons as the face of its collection - but Kate Moss hasn’t got her sights set on footwear design any time soon.
“Not shoes, I’ll leave that to the professional craftsmen,” Moss revealed. And even if she did design shoes, she admits her ubiquitous flats would be the trickiest. “I wouldn’t do a sneaker - I would do a ballet pump. I bought sneakers thinking they would be good for working out in Ibiza, and I looked down and thought ‘That’s not my foot!’”
The supermodel’s new range features zebra print totes, shoulder bags and slouchy styles in colourful leather – all artfully modelled by Moss in the advertising images. The collection will be launched in London next week, following last week’s Paris unveiling – and bags will be priced from €500.
“As a woman with a lot of handbags, they have got to have a bit of flair, not too ‘Lady’, with a bit of an edge,” Moss told the International Herald Tribune of what makes a good bag, before revealing of her seven-year-old daughter: “Lila’s got her ideas too – she’s got really good taste. She wants to do her own collection!”
